On Thursday night President Trump launched an air strike on Syria, hitting the Shayrat Airfield with 59 tomahawk missiles and killing 6. The attack was said to be retaliation for Assad's use of chemical weapons which killed dozens. As if the United State's relations with other countries couldn't get any worse, Syrian leaders have declared this an act of war and Russia's leader, Vladimir Putin, is demanding explanations due to Russians being on the base at the time of the strikes. Russia declares Trumps actions to be a huge blow to US and Russian relations.
While many political leaders are taking pride in this strike some are upset at the United States' involvement. The time for America to act came when thousands upon thousands of Syrians were being murdered by they day and seeking refuge and the country failed them. So it is hilariously ironic that all of a sudden America now wants to defend and protect those same people. Wrong way to flex your muscles Mr. President!
