Chuck Berry was laid to rest today in St. Louis, Missouri. Hundreds of fans came out around dawn on Sunday to attend his viewing at The Pageant, a club in St. Louis where Berry used to perform, and to pay their last respects.
Berry was known as one of the great pioneers of Rock and Roll music with big hits like "Maybelline," "School Days," and "Almost Grown" which feature a young Etta James and Marvin Gaye on background vocals. He died on March 18, 2017, after going into cardiac arrest. Berry was 90 years old. Rest in peace.
