Recent news has been highlighting Papa Johns founder, John Schnatter, for his comments about NFL protests and sales so Pizza Hut issued a response of their own. Since Papa John's is such a huge sponsor of the NFL they have blamed a recent fall in stock (down 8.5%) and sales on the NFL protests. Contrary to what they might have you believe, pizza sales aren't taking as big of a hit as they have claimed. Yum brand Pizza Hut pizza CEO said that he hasn't seen any bad impact on sales by being affiliated with the NFL.
If anything, Yum Brands CEO George Creed is saying that being a sponsor to the NFL, MLB and other sports leagues sales have benefited greatly. While Papa John's is trying to go about distancing themselves from the NFL, Pizza Hut plans to stay.
