What happened at Penn Station on Friday night to send the crowd into a frenzy? Authorities say that the stampede was caused by what onlookers thought to be gunshots. Once the noise was heard the word traveled quickly sending all of the inhabitants of the underground station into a panic: running, knocking people over and leaving behind luggage and other personal items. Once NYPD arrived on scene it was confirmed that the alleged "shots" people heard was actually the sound of a stun gun going of from someone being disorderly with Amtrak security. The incident caused 16 people injuries, however, all were non-life threatening.
