PYONGYANG - At North Korea's annual military parade on Saturday two new intercontinental ballistic missile-sized (ICBM) canisters, a submarine-launched ballistic missile and a land-based version of the same were shown off for the first time ever! This is being taken as another notice to the country's adversaries after tensions reached their peak when the US Navy dispatched the USS Carl Vinson into the Korean Peninsula last week.
The new missiles are causing quite the raucous. Analysts seem concerned because if North Korea is in possession of ICBMs then they also possess they ability to strike targets on land in the United States and Europe. The shorter ranged missiles pose a threat to North Korea's neighbors.
China has been doing a great job trying to maintain the peace between the United States and North Korea while President Donald Trump continues to fan the fire even more. In his recent storm of tweets he says that if China can't control North Korea's nuclear powers then the United States will. Vice Minister Han Song Ryol is calling President Trump and his administration "more vicious and aggressive" than the Obama administration. He also stated that in lieu of all that's been going on they will continue to build nuclear weapons and are prepared for war if that is what Trump wishes.
Seems to me as if a lot could be solved if Trump would just turn down his bravado but unfortunately that looks highly unlikely. Stay tuned for updates and more news! Don't forget to comment below and tell us what you think.
