Saturday near the National Gallery of Art a noose was found hanging from a lamp post. This is the third one found in the National Mall area within the last month. Two were found at the National Museum of African American History and Culture and another at the Hirshorn Museum.
This appears to be apart of an ongoing problem in the nation's capital and Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser had this to say about it:
"We are an inclusive city, and we do not tolerate signs of hate, ignorance and fear. Our diversity is what makes us stronger, and we will not relent in promoting and defending DC Values. We do not take these incidents lightly, and we will not accept that signs of hate are signs of our time."
